I've never had a laptop, never had a PC, but i've used a friend's PC & PCs at my library.
And i'm more of a PS3/PSP browser so browsing on a laptop is a difference experience for me.
CAUSE the PS3/PSP browser really spoiled me as i forgotten about pop ups & how bad they can be.
Not only that but Malware, Viruses & Adware.
I ran into this crap a few minutes ago!
I'm aware the 1-800 number calls are fake, but i didn't realise they have Microsoft windows virus alert pop ups too.
And I called!
DO NOT CALL THE 1-800 number!
Freaking out i called the 1-800 number on my screen as i could not back out or close any windows & i saw this.
DO NOT CALL THE 1-800 number!
It's not that number but i called the 1-800 number on my screen & spoken with the tech guy.
And before i gave him any info i said wait a sec i wanna try something 1st & i hung up.
The site i went to was a download site, openload.
I went to openload lots of times on my PS3/PSP, but the PS3, PSP, stops any pop ups or site redirects.
See he did ask for my information so he could connect & that alone scared me, that's when i thought of Youtube.
DO NOT CALL THE 1-800 number!
I have other devices i can access the internet with, so lets see if i can find a solution there & sure enough i read how that's a scam, the same scam just with pop ups.
I read how to solve the problem.
I shutdown everything, turned off my laptop then turned it back on & everything worked.
I recommend trying using a different device & look on Youtube, online, or call Microsoft directly.
