ONCE UPON A DEADPOOL

Once Upon a Deadpool is Deadpool 2 in a PG-13 wrapper

Deadpool 2 is returning to theaters in a re-edited form while adding Fred Savage... because of course.

Did you love Deadpool 2 but were too young to see it on the big screen because of its R-rating? Well I've got good news for you.

A re-edited, holiday-themed version called Once Upon a Deadpool is coming to theaters, featuring a PG-13 version of the film released from December 12 through Christmas Eve in the US and on December 11 for just one night in the UK, as reported by Deadline and confirmed by the official Deadpool movie Twitter account.

The new version will feature added interstitial scenes where Ryan Reynolds' antihero appears with actor Fred Savage -- all of which were apparently filmed in one day for this release. Savage will appear in eight scenes in which Deadpool will read a bedtime story to the former child actor, a concept comically recycled from his youthful appearance in 1987's The Princess Bride.

The re-release isn't a complete cash grab. Reynolds told Deadline that $1 from every ticket is going to the F-ck Cancer charity, which is being temporarily renamed Fudge Cancer to remove the expletive for this cleaned up superhero flick.

"Fox has been asking for a PG-13 basically since the start in 2006," Reynolds told Deadline. "I've said no since 2006. Now, this one time, I said 'Yes' on two conditions. First, a portion of the proceeds had to go to charity. Second, I wanted to kidnap Fred Savage. The second condition took some explaining..."

Savage appears to be in on the joke in his comment to Deadline... I think.

"While my participation in this film was anything but voluntary. I am happy to learn that Fudge Cancer will be the beneficiary of this shameless cash grab," Savage said.

Once Upon a Deadpool marks the third version of Deadpool 2 that will be available for audiences, including the previously released theatrical version and the alternate joke-filled Super Duper Cut that came with the movie's home release.

And the real question left about this PG-13 Deadpool: Will it have new post-credits scenes?

Just another way for Ryan Reynolds to make a dollar or million.

The charity thing is nice and the new scenes do look like they could be funny, but this seems like something that could of been a bonus on the home releases to be honest.

Yeah I know but the studio was crying for it so this happened.

No i think it's a matter of milking the audience & movie for all they're worth.

The studio wanted DeadPool to be PG-13, PG-13 means more money in that adults & their children are paying to see the same movie.
Rated-R means only 18 & up are paying.

That's why the majority of movies aren't Rated-R.

Yea and it's bullshit, so many movies that should of been R rated were neutered by studios not caring about source material or the directors vision just to make a quick buck.
PG-13 used to mean something but now days it's pretty much the same or very similar too PG. What i mean by that is there's far fewer modern PG-13 movies that tread the very fine line of almost being R. Mosty due to a large number of overly sensitive "people" who can't differentiate between what's a joke and what's not or they don't care and still get "offended". I hope Deadpool rides that line raw until it's paper thin and about to break.
