SpongeBob Squarepants and Patrick Starfish in a scene from their series.

(CNN)There has long been debate about the sexuality of SpongeBob Squarepants and some are taking a Nickelodeon tweet as his coming out.
The network included a photo of the beloved animated character in a recent tweet celebrating Pride Month.

SpongeBob is pictured in the tweet along along with actor Michael D. Cohen from "Henry Danger," who is transgender, and the character of Avatar Korra, from "The Legend of Korra," who is bisexual.

"Celebrating #Pride with the LGBTQ+ community and their allies this month and every month," the tweet reads.

#SpongeBobIsGay started trending as many decided the tweet was confirmation of the character's sexuality.
Due in part to his close relationship with best friend Patrick Star, the internet had long ago decided that SpongeBob was indeed gay.
But the show's creator, Stephen Hillenburg, dismissed speculation about the characters' relationship and sexuality in 2005.
Hillenburg died in 2018 at the age of 57 due to complications resulting from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, more commonly known as ALS.
"It doesn't have anything to do with what we're trying to do," People magazine reported Hillenburg as saying. "We never intended them to be gay. I consider them to be almost asexual. We're just trying to be funny and this has got nothing to do with the show."

No spongebob isn't gay, but in this social climate there are those who want him to be simply for the sake of being gay.
Just like the SuperGirl tv show they wanted SuperGirl to be gay & when cast members told them that wasn't going to happen they through a hissy fit.

It's a matter of virtue signalling, crying foul & representing those who aren't offended & never gave a crap about it in the first place, followed by the hyper sensitive that's provoked into being offended by the virtue signalers.

The world is bass ackwards caving into & sparking social trends.
Artist are apologising for their right to freedom of expression, while the media controls & manipulates the social construct.

Look carefully, it's so obvious this time around that media controls & manipulates the social construct that it's sloppy.
The things happening now when it came to equality & diversity in media are the very things many people wanted & asked for back in 2015 & before.

However People were denied that level of equality & diversity.
There are articles with Gamers, Movie audiences, Comic Book readers all requesting those things, but each of those parts of the entertainment industry in the u.s. said No.

They fed us so BS excuse to the tone of...

' Wrote:"We had some [companies] that said, 'Well, we don't want to publish it because that's not going to succeed. You can't have a female character in games. It has to be a male character, simple as that,'" creative director Jean-Maxime Moris told Penny Arcade.

"We wanted to be able to tease on Nilin's private life, and that means for instance, at one point, we wanted a scene where she was kissing a guy. We had people tell us, 'You can't make a dude like the player kiss another dude in the game, that's going to feel awkward.'"

And then there's the film industry.

And suddenly 2016/17 everything changed?
They hear us now?
That's total BS!
The entertainment & media industry didn't listen to a single word people said.
We got told as usual what we wanted, what we requested, & what we like.

Yeah there's diversity but it's portrayed poorly.
Nothing has changed at all, the media is still controlling & manipulating everyone into believing what we're given is exactly what we want.

Spongebob isn't gay, he never was.
We're just controlled & manipulated into believing that he should be because we want him to be.

We are dancers in a ballroom with the media industry playing the tune.

Screw realism.
Screw being practical.
Screw representation.
Screw Woke/PC BS.

When Ya got the tools, ya got the talent, & the freedom.
The reason one draws stuff like this is because they can.
