As Christmas Eve fast approaches, it's time for some to consider how they'll track Santa on December 24th. Luckily, modern technology and the military industrial complex has us covered! The folks over at NORAD are the classic Santa trackers and they're back at it again this year. They started tracking Santa back in 1955 after a department store ad accidentally misprinted a phone number. Instead of calling Santa, children unexpectedly began calling the Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD) Operations Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Their current Santa tracking site has a countdown, radar, and some holiday music and games. Visitors can see updates on Santa's preparations beginning at 4 am Christmas Eve. Children and parents can also call 1-877-446-6723 to inquire about Santa beginning at 6 am Christmas Eve.
Google also has a Santa tracker website. You get the same Santa tracking experience as NORAD without any of the worries of an errant hellfire missile strike bringing the big man down. They've got games, videos, an online yule log, and a “design your own elf” section.
