recently i was using amazon music for my music downloads it was kinda garbage (audio quality is crappy for prime members) so i was looking for alternatives.
most of the alternatives charge for offline music listening, i was once subscribed to Tidal music (aka audiophile hires music app), i loved the audio quality but not the price per month (also made my phone nice and warm. perfect for the colder weather) . also there was a noticeable amount of music i wanted to listen not available, like at all ......WTF?
spotify suffers with the same issues, low quality streaming and only paid downloads also a less than stellar app on android (haven't tried the iPhone version)
i cant think of em all, but i have tried a good majority of them, and they all have the same issues, this brings me to the current app i have been using for 4 years i think (haven't been actively counting but i am pretty sure its accurate) i have been using this awesome app called trebel music its ads supported, now normally i wouldn't recommend a service like this, but this is the one i will because of how it deploys the ads.
features: downloads music by playing ads while the songs download, and legally! it uses the advertisements to pay for licensing and royalties, you get to listen to your music offline and have control of what songs play! (cough cough..... fuck you spotify! AGH~cough cough!) and the audio quality sounds a whole hella lot better!
currently my song list sits at 1483 and climbing quickly, 6 playlists and 628 artists 986 albums, it also has some nice features!
it has a built in feature for finding what music is playing around you called song ID, just grant it permission to listen for a song and it will usually detect it!
it also allows you to import your own music as well and play it thru the Trebel music app, i do this for my game soundtracks and my iTunes songs.
it allows you to play music in the background and turn off your screen while listening to music (screw you YouTube red! miss me with that paid background music bullshit)
supports sd card music storing inside the app.
it also can be controlled with a pair of headphones (skip forward ,backwards skip, pause) in case you can't reach your phone, i use this feature when running or cleaning my house.
this app would also be a great companion with windows 11, because you can run android apps on windows 11 now, then you can use you windows machine kinda like a jukebox or something, i dunno. (shrugs casually) (makes confused face)
when i get the chance ill give that a test!
i definitely recommend giving it a try, its free!
best case:you like it and continue to download more music and enjoy it!
worst case: you uninstall it.
