Petition to ‘Get Rid Of’ Fortnite Reaches Almost 1,000 Signatures

It’s no secret that people like Fortnite, and some are dedicating quite a bit of time to the battle royale game. However, the amount of time people are spending with Fortnite has caused some concern, even leading to a petition that, while initially made as a “joke,” seems to have caught the attention of people who genuinely want the game banned.

The petition, which has 919 signatures at the time of this writing, was created by two people named Chloe and Jaden as a call to “get rid of” Fortnite for the apparent effect it has on males. The petition mentions how mothers, wives, and girlfriends are “annoyed” when their significant others ignore them for the free-to-play battle royale game as the main reason for why it should be banned.

After the petition caught the eye of mainstream news media, including The Washington Post, Chloe and Jaden updated the page to explain that while they initially started it as a joke, they do think Fortnite is a “rising issue” with families.

“I also see how mothers get annoyed and wife’s/girlfriends when their significant others ignore them for It. Regardless we never knew this would blow up so big. It was initially a joke but It seems to be a rising issue within families because everyone has been so addicted to It.”

The repeated complaint about Fortnite is aimed at the game’s “addictive” nature. While few would argue against the idea that video games can be addictive, it is worth pointing out that at least one researcher has said that Fortnite itself is not addictive. That same researcher, Andrew Reid from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland, also pointed out how the game’s cartoony graphics means its violence won’t have as negative of an impact on kids as other shooters.

Even so, the interest in the petition shows that there is a genuine concern among some people that their loved ones are playing the increasingly popular Fortnite too much. While some of the people almost certainly signed the petition as a joke, the comments show that there are people who actually dislike the game or feel that it is having a negative impact on someone in their lives. Of course, similar things have been said in the past about other popular games like Call of Duty and World of Warcraft without any significant negative consequences to the world at large, so some may feel these people are overreacting.

Regardless, the petition to ban Fortnite is getting more attention, and it will be interesting to see if it continues to take off, and how Epic Games may respond to it.

Fortnite is available now in early access on iOS devices, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Ban Fortnite Petitioner Suggests ‘Restraints’ for Game

A couple of months ago, a pair named Chloe and Jaden created a petition to “get rid of” the increasingly popular Fortnite, apparently as a joke. Recently, the petition has started to gain some momentum, catching the attention of the mainstream news media and nearing 1,500 signatures at the time of this writing. In response to this, Chloe has posted an update on the petition’s page that suggests a different goal than outright banning the game.

In the post, which Chloe has since removed her name from, she acknowledges that a petition to ban Fortnite is unlikely to succeed. However, she says that “putting restraints” on Fortnite as a possibility that could “help” those with significant others and kids who are playing the game excessively. Chloe doesn’t elaborate on what these restrictions would be, but it seems likely that she is referring to something like a time limit on how long a person can play Fortnite in any given day or something similar.

“Hey all signers! i know all of you are hopeful this game goes down the drain and with all the attention it’s getting It seems possible. With over a million players worldwide the most they could do would be putting restraints on It in some way which i hope could still help all of you (and me) with your significant others and kids.”

The post on the petition’s main page has also been updated since yesterday. The edited content says that “the game has caused quite an uproar with a lot of women,” and reiterates that while the pair originally made the petition as a joke, that they “might” leave it up because of the attention it’s getting. Plus, the pair states, “It seems [excessive Fortnite playing is] actually a serious problem from when [the petition] was made 2 months prior.” The edited post then ends saying that there will be no more edits on the petition moving forward.

While Chloe and Jaden acknowledge that it is virtually impossible for the petition to lead to Fortnite being banned, it’s also worth pointing out that it is unlikely to result in any “restraints” being placed on the game either. After all, the petition has only managed to drum up about 1,500 signatures since its launch two months ago, and that is an extremely small number compared to the millions of people that play Fortnite on a regular basis.

Furthermore, it’s worth pointing out that the game’s negative impact on mental health may be exaggerated. At least one researcher, Andrew Reid from Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland, has asserted that the game is not addictive, and may be less damaging to the mental health of children than titles with more realistic and violent imagery.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see if the petition continues to amass signatures, or if it will fizzle out.

Fortnite is available now in early access on iOS devices, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

It's cool to post about. If people wanna I was just saying it's getting ridiculous on the amount of coverage it's getting.

I am going to put a mental block on all gameplay on the battle royal portion of the game.

The original game was supposed to be a horde/ survival game that disappeared. At least I haven't seen anything about it.

They will make articles about the game for no reason. Like Drake the rapper playing or how he will make a song about fortnight if the put his emote hotline bling in the game.

Everyday for the last 2 months I get articles about fortnight.

Now that the game and the genre of battle royal games are popular a good handful of other studios are make modes for a battle royal the battlefield series are working on a prototype mode. This years Call of Duty is rumored to be skipping the entire story mode and having it be a battle royal instead of a story.

When Will Fortnite Come Back Online After The End Event

Fortnite is unquestionably the most popular Battle Royale game in the world. However, players have been unable to play the game since a huge asteroid blew up the map. This asteroid came to mark the end of season 10 and has now been replaced with a black hole that doesn't allow players to access the game. While there is no question that Fortnite will return, many have wondered when they can get to back on the game. Fortunately, it looks like the conclusion of 'The End' is in sight.

With the appearance of the black hole, Fortnite deleted all of their tweets. The move has generated buzz and some players were confused by what was meant by the move. While this is unlikely to be the end of Fortnite, it is probable that the game will have a new map when it resurfaces. In the time between it coming back, twitter user, Lucas7yoshi has investigated what has been happening and found code that suggests when Fortnite will return.

It looks like Fortnite will return on Tuesday (15th) at 6 AM EST. Yet, this isn't set in stone and Lucas7yoshi was quick to remind players to check the Fortnite site for an official announcement. Many will be relieved that they don't have to wait too long to get back to their favourite Battle Royale game. The new map is still a mystery but Fortnite 'Chapter 2' with a new map has been leaked through the apple store.

The black hole that has absorbed Fortnite isn't completely unplayable. There is a cheat code that allows players to play a mini-game in the Fortnite black hole. While many may find the mini-game a fun distraction, there will be some who have been annoyed at the way Season 10 has closed, especially those who couldn't see the closing event.

During the End Event, Fortnite was not working for many players. This led to frustration, yet the return of Fortnite will surely ease this tension. Whether the new map will surpass the somewhat legendary original, remains to be seen. One thing is for sure, players will be hoping this is the last disruption they face when playing the game.

Fortnite is out now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.

I participated in the live event. It was great.

It's funny because a lot of people actually believe the game is gone.
Whereas in reality it's just down for maintenance.

Fortnite Black Hole Numbers Have Been Decoded - Here's What They Mean

Fortnite's Season 10 "The End" event certainly lived up to the hype. During the event, Fortnite battle royale players were left to watch helplessly as the battle royale map was completely destroyed and sucked into a black hole. Fortnite is still just a black hole at the time of this writing, with the general consensus being that Fortnite Chapter 2 and a brand new map will be introduced to the game tomorrow morning.

However, there are still mysteries to decipher when it comes to Fortnite and its black hole in the meantime. Fortnite fans on Reddit who have been watching the black hole have noted that there is a sequence of numbers that have periodically popped up. The sequence started to repeat itself, which means that Fortnite fans were able to determine that the full sequence of numbers is 11, 146, 15, 62 / 87, 14, 106, 2, 150 / 69, 146, 15, 36 / 2, 176, 8, 160, 65.

As it so happens, these numbers correspond with messages that Fortnite players could find by collecting the Visitor recordings in the game. Players have determined that the black hole numbers likely refer to specific words in the Visitor Recordings. So for example, the first sequence of numbers would correspond to the 11th, 146th, 15th, and 62nd word in the recordings. Using this logic, Fortnite fans have figured out what the black hole numbers mean.

Assuming Fortnite fans are correct in the way they decoded the black hole numbers, the numbers spell out a message that reads: "I was not alone. Others were outside the loop. This was not calculated. The nothing is now inevitable." What this means exactly is up for debate, but we may have more answers once Fortnite Chapter 2 and the new battle royale map launch.

In the meantime, the black hole numbers aren't the only thing to take note of when it comes to the Fortnite black hole. It's been discovered that if players input the Konami code, they can actually play a black hole mini-game to pass the time. If Fortnite Chapter 2 doesn't kick off until tomorrow morning as expected, though, fans will be stuck playing this mini-game for quite some time to come.

So far, the Fortnite black hole event has proven to be quite popular and has even been covered by mainstream media. If Epic's goal was to reverse the trend of declining interest in Fortnite, it may very well have succeeded and then some. The true test will be when Fortnite comes back online and Chapter 2 of the popular battle royale game can begin.

Fortnite is out now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.

The black has been showing a sequence of numbers all day and when converted they say I WAS NOT ALONE. OTHERS ARE OUTSIDE THE LOOP THIS WAS NOT CALCULATED. THE ZERO POINT IS NOW INEVITABLE.

Its referring to how the visitor miscalculated the zero points abilities

Instead of destroying the infinite loop the zero point created it completely warped and changed reality
