I'm talking with a mod on Neo about them going https, here's what they said.

' Wrote:Right. Https uses either SSL or TLS for the encryption. TLS is the newever version between the two encryptions.

What's TLS ?

Transport Layer Security (TLS) is the successor protocol to SSL. TLS is an improved version of SSL.
It works in much the same way as the SSL, using encryption to protect the transfer of data and information.

also,
You might need to install Adobe Flash Player on the PlayStation web browser.
Note that: on some consoles Flash Player is already installed!
To install Adobe Flash Player:
  • The easiest way is to trigger the installation of Flash Player, by visiting a video streaming website, like http://www.youtube.com/.
  • If Flash is not present, a window opens, prompting you to download the missing plug-ins.
  • Click OK.
  • Wait for the installation to proceed.

Would the PS3 allow that to be installed ?

Flash Player on PlayStation 3
  • Services & Entertainment :
  • TV & Video Services
With system software version 2.50 onwards, the PlayStation 3 system’s Internet browser supports Adobe® Flash® Player 9.

  • If you visit a website containing Flash content, the following message will be displayed on-screen: ‘Do you want to run the plugin?’
  • Choose ‘Yes’ to play any Flash content on the page.
  • If the content does not play, on the XMB Menu and go to [Image: settings-icon-01-ps4-eu-22jul15.gif] Settings > [System Settings] > [Restore Default Settings] before returning to the website and attempting to play the content again.

That's awesome but too bad the majority of streaming sites either switched to 10.0, or like Youtube dropped flash altogether in favour of HTML5.

https://www.theverge.com/2015/1/27/79260...eo-default
So going directly to Youtube through the PS3 browser you'll see a black empty square.

PS3 is stuck with the Youtube App instead.

The 360 browser does however play through the browser & has the Youtube App too, but OMG the 360 browser is a pain in the butt.
This site does not open on the 360 browser at all.
And wow the 360 browser will lag & or kick you out of the browser when there's too much to load.

Anyway, there are still video sites with older or different video links that can be viewed through the PS3 browser.

Guess what.
I can access Neo again, https & all.
SO it's something they did on their end.
The Verify SSL certificates you posted they kept popping up green but i couldn't access it till today & I did nothing on my end.

So it's something on their end that stopped particular browsers.

I'm going to keep trying with other https sites i can't access, i'm still looking for a solution on my end that could help others in this situation.

Please post any possible solutions if you find any cause 80710a06 is a problem & https seems an issue on other devices too.

Yup yup, after that & yesterday i can say it's not just the PS3 browser.

I tried accessing wikipedia through my laptop & the internet explore cannot access wikipedia because of the ssl setup.
So like Neo, it's something quite possibly they've done or haven't done correctly on their end.

WELL Another site falls to the https inaccessible fate for the PS3 browser.
https://chan.sankakucomplex.com/
Make it two sites.
https://sankakucomplex.com/

Well not necessarily Chan.Sankaku but its posted images has.
No posted images appear at all except ads.
And Sankakucomplex can't be accessed at all, worse yet even the PC browser Internet Explorer on Windows7 suffers the same issue.

However Both sites work using other browser types like Chrome & the AvG browser.
Https is really hating on older browser types.
